Lockhart Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Attendance - Behind Closed Doors
New
York Cosmos prevailed over NPSL outfit Miami United in a behind closed doors
scrimmage.
The
game was played on a poor surface with a strong wind which made conditions
difficult, but New York still had more than enough to win, running out 3v0
winners.
Cosmos
dominated possession in the early stages without creating any clear cut
chances, but took the lead through Duk, with the assist from Orozco. Miami
responded by creating 3 chances on goal, but failed to make any count as the
Cosmos were lucky to still be ahead.
Miami
were made to pay as Duk capitalised on a defensive error to score his and
Cosmos’ second of the night.
Just
before half time Cosmos made it 3v0 after a well worked free kick, involving
Arango, Ayoze and Bover, with Bover providing the finish.
The
game turned nasty towards the end after a few nasty challenges, angering Cosmos
Coach Gio Savarese, but there would be no more additions to the scoreline as
the game ended 3v0.
